LYMAN B. BOYER DIES SUDDENLY
Stricken with Heart Attack and Succumbs Before Aid Can Be Called.

Death came suddenly this morning to Lyman B. Boyer, 79 years old, retired farmer, who was stricken with a heart attack while attending to chores at the barn near his home 1216 Cottage avenue and he lived but a few minutes, passing away at 11 o'clock and before assistance could be called. Mr. Boyer had been in declining health for more than a year, and of late his condition had not been so favorable. This morning he accompanied Mrs. Boyer to the barn to attend to some chores and had walked into the barn when he was suddenly stricken and death occurred almost instantly.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home. Burial in Garland Brook cemetery. It is requested that no flowers be sent.

Parents Were Pioneers

Mr. Boyer was born and reared in the county and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Boyer, pioneers, who settled on the farm now marked by the round barn, east of this city, and known as the Boyer homestead. He engaged in farming during his early life and continued in that work until forced to retire by ill health. He lived on the old homestead place until 19 years ago when he and his family moved to this city. Mr. Boyer was a member of the Christian church and was a good man. He possessed an unusually jovial disposition which won for him many sincere friends. He was greatly devoted to his home and family, and was ever charitable in his dealing with others. He had been married twice, and his second wife and three daughters, all by the first marriage, namely Mrs. Della Bonnell, Mrs. Katie Finkel, Mrs. Ada Cox, all of this county, survive. There are also 11 grandchildren and three brothers, Charles , Edward, and Stephen Boyer, who live in the county.
