Edna Hope SOWERS, 95, Elizabeth City, N.C., formerly of 1230 Main St., Rochester, died at 1:34 p.m., Tuesday In Elizabeth City, N.C.
Born in Argos to James and Nora E. WICKIZER BOWELL, she married William H. SOWERS on July 2, 1921 in Rochester. He died Feb. 15, 1983. A homemaker, she was a member of Rochester First Baptist Church and Rochester Women's Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (Mary Jo) BARNETT, Daytona Beach, Fla.; one son, Richard and wife Yvcinne SOWERS, Elizabeth City, N.C.: eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers Glen B. [BOWELL] and James F. BOWELL, one sister Emma BOWELL, and one grandson, William BARNETT.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Zimmerman Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Chris DODSON offlciating. Burial will be in Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
