Arthur John Anderson, son of William and Francis Howe Anderson, was born on December 3, 1851. Arthur was a carpenter and undertaker. He made fanning mills like his father and several of his Anderson uncles. It is likely that Arthur moved from Mercer County to Lickingville in Clarion County to set up his own fanning mill business, where he met and married his wife Evaline Myers on December 2, 1874. Arthur took ill and died when only 29 years of age. Arthur was reported to have been very athletic and could leap over the back of a dining room chair. It is a puzzle what illness caused his early death, though it is possible it was due to the chemicals used in undertaking, such as mercury. His wife Evaline remarried a John Glass.
