Mrs. C.W. Crim Dies In West Suddenly
Body Will Be Sent to Estherville for Burial
Been Ailing for Some Time
Recently Went to California in Automobile With Daughter, Miss Grace
A telegram that came as a complete shock was received last Tuesday by Mrs. Geo. Allen, sister of Mrs. C. W. Crim, telling of the death of that lady at Los Angeles. Mrs. Crim had left by auto with her daughter, Miss Grace, several weeks ago for that city, and had planned to continue on to Honolulu to be with her son, Lieut. Harold Crim, who is in the government service in Hawaii. The trip was made to benefit Mrs. Crim's health that had not been good for the past year. It is probable that the trip was too strenuous.

The body will be brought to Estherville for burial, leaving Los Angeles as soon as the son arrives, which is expected to be today. That will bring them here by Sunday. Funeral services and burial will be held the day of arrival here.

Mrs. Crim, whose maiden name was Sadie McCulla, was one of the pioneers of the county, living with her parents on a farm just north and west of the city limits. Her husband, who preceded her to the great beyond by but a brief two years, was one of the ablest lawyers in the state. They have always been interested in all better things of the community.

Mrs. Crim's Funeral Services
Will Be Held at Grace Episcopal Church Probably on Monday Afternoon
As we go to press we are unable to give any positive date for the funeral services for Mrs. C. W. Crim who recently passed away at Los Angeles, Calif. Word received yesterday, from Grace Crim that the vessel on which her brother, Lieut. C. H. Crim sailed from Honolulu was a day late. In that case we believe they will leave Los Angeles tomorrow, Thursday, and the services will be held on Monday afternoon.

Mrs. C. W. Crim Laid to Rest on Monday
Body Reached Here From California Saturday
Sermon By Rev. Weeks
Funeral Held in Episcopal Church – Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery
The body of Mrs. C. W. Crim was brought here from Los Angeles on Saturday night and burial services held from Grace Episcopal church, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Her children, Lieut. Harold Crim, and Miss Grace accompanied the remains. Rev. LeRoy Titus Weeks of Emmetsburg was the officiating clergyman and Mr. Clair Foote of Fort Dodge sang appropriate numbers accompanied by Mrs. J. H. Cramer. The body was laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Crim had for years held a prominent place in the social life of this community. She was a leader in whatever undertaking interested her and her ability and energy usually brought it to a successful ending. Her passing leaves not only a vacant place in the hearts of her family, but one as well in the hearts of her many friends.

Sarah J. McCulla was born in New Oregon, Howard county, Iowa, and moved with her parents, Robert and Jane McCulla, in 1870 to the farm just over in Dickinson county, on the main Spirit Lake road. Later just after the death of the father, the family moved to Emmet county on the farm near the railway cut that still bears the name of McCulla's cut. On Sept. 23, 1890, she was married to Charles W. Crim, and to this union two children were born, Grace and Harold. Mr. Crim died Nov. 20, 1920. Since the death of her husband Mrs. Crim has been in failing health and she passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the C. D. Osgood home in Los Angeles, following her overland trip.

Besides her children, Mrs. Crim is survived by three sisters, Mrs. A. S. Gowdy of Henderson, Iowa, Mrs. Geo. Allen of this city, Mrs. H. H. Cook of Wahpeton, N.D., and a brother, Frew W. (Fred?). The two sisters from out of town are in failing health and could not attend the funeral and the brother could not be located.

Mrs. C. W. Crim Laid to Rest
Funeral Services of Pioneer Lady Were Held in This City on Monday Last
Funeral services of Mrs. C. W. Crim who passed away in the City of Angles on November the 28th were held from the home and from Grace Episcopal Church on last Monday afternoon. Rev. Weeks of Emmetsburg officiating. Mrs. Crim, with her daughter Grace had gone west to join her son, Lieut. Harold Crim, who is in service in Honolulu. They had reached Los Angeles when Mrs. Crim became suddenly ill. Harold arrived in about seven days and with his sister Grace accompanied the remains to this city.

Mrs. Crim came to eastern Dickinson County with her parents, in the year Eighteen Seventy. Years ago she became a resident of this city. The early part of her life here she spent as an instructor in our schools and became well known to many of the older residents of the county. She was united in marriage to Attorney C. W. Crim on September 23rd 1890. To this union there were three children born, one of whom died in infancy and Grace and Harold, both of whom are left to mourn the death of a loving and devoted mother. The remains were laid to rest beside the husband who preceded her only two years ago. Lieut. Crim returned at once to his duties in the Army and Miss Grace will remain here for the present.
