Henry Dale Cohrs, 73, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, passed from this life Thursday, June 18, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City with his family by his side. He was born to Henry and Ruth Reynolds Cohrs June 23, 1935, in his grandmother's house in Breckenridge, Oklahoma. Relatives of both sides of his family staked land claims in various Oklahoma land runs and a number of his relatives were born in the Oklahoma Territory. He grew up on the family farm in Adair, Oklahoma. He graduated in 1953 from Adair High School (Oklahoma). He was an A&P aircraft mechanic for 45 years, working with Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, and Aero Commander, Rockwell International and Gulfstream Corporation in Bethany, Oklahoma. With Boeing, he helped construct B-52 Bombers and helped build both of the mother ships that served as the launch platform for the X-15 rocket. Dale was a talented mechanic and was able to fix most things. He built their house in Piedmont with the help of his sons and friends. He loved his family and church. He had a servants heart and helped many people in various ways. He enjoyed traveling, home cooked meals, ice cream, and country music (especially Alan Jackson). He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Wilma and brother Wilbur. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Alberta Brixey Cohrs of Piedmont, Oklahoma; sons Greg Cohrs and wife Sandra of Winnfield, Louisiana, and Randy Cohrs and wife Glenda of Piedmont, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Adam Cohrs and wife Jennifer, and Amy Cohrs Goolsby and husband Matthew, all of Beaumont, Texas, Stacy Cohrs and fiancé Mark Yates, and Thomas Cohrs, all of Piedmont, Oklahoma; and sister Elaine Stewart and husband Bill of Leesburg, Florida. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday, June 20 & 21, noon-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, at First Baptist Church, Piedmont, Oklahoma with interment 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Ghormley Cemetery, Mayes County, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Youth, First Baptist Church of Piedmont.
