Shirley passed away at the age of 60. She is survived by her mother, Marglene Watkins of the home; brother, Larry Gene Watkins and wife, Marna of Inola; and a niece and nephew. Services will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Inola Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Eden Mennonite Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 2-6 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-6 p.m. Shirley died Thurs., June 18, 2009, at Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 60. She was born April 14, 1949, in Fayetteville, AR, to Russell Wesley and Mary Marglene (Duncan) Watkins. Shirley spent her early years in Tulsa and attended elementary school there. The family later moved to Claremore where she attended high school. She lived with her parents and worked alongside
them in the family janitorial service. She later worked at Walmart in Claremore. She was a loving caregiver to her niece and nephew. At 10 years of age, Shirley committed her heart to the Lord and was later baptized in the Turley Baptist Church. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her niece and nephew, Ben and Amanda. She looked forward to birthday, Christmas and other family celebrations. She
enjoyed taking care of her animals and also flower gardening. Survivors include her mother, Mary Marglene Watkins; brother, Larry Gene Watkins and wife, Marna Sue of Inola; niece, Amanda Leigh Watkins; and nephew, Benjamin Russell Watkins. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Russell Wesley Watkins in May 2004; and her grandparents.
