---George Lee Murphy, age 85 of Milan, formerly of Adair County, Missouri passed away Wednesday morning, November 7, 1990 in the Sullivan County Hospital in Milan.
---The son of Ben and Katie Buck Murphy he was born November 28, 1904 in Adair County, Missouri.
---He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Deloma Conkin; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Maurita Murphy both of Kirksville, Missouri and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
---He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Floyd Murphy on February 24, 1984 and one brother-in-law, Charles Conkin on April 23, 1986.
---Mr. Murphy was reared in Adair County and attended the Illinois Bend and Prairie View Rural schools. For most of his life he was engaged in farming in the Millard Community in Adair County until his health failed. Mr. Murphy was a member of the La Plata Christian Church.
---Funeral services were held on Friday, November 9, 1990 at the Hudson-Rimer Park View Funeral Chapel in Kirksville. Rev. Stan East conducted the services. Music was provided by Harold Moyer, soloist singing "Precious Memories" and "In The Garden." He was accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery at La Plata. Casket bearers were Benny Murphy, Neal McMann, Darrell McMann, Roy Sweikert, Cly E. Law Jr. and Dale Wolf.
