FORMER BOONVILLE RECTOR, 78, DIES

Camden, Sept. 30---Rev. Frederick F. Meyer, 78, of Camden, R. D. 2, a retired Episcopal minister, who once was Rector of the Church of the Holy Cross, Utica, died yesterday in Rome Hospital.
He was born in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. He came to this country in 1889 and moved to Oneida from Binghamton in 1889. He married Bessie Tomlinson in Oneida in 1909.
Rev. Mr. Meyer was graduated from Oneida High School and attended Syracuse University. After training at the College of Preachers in Washington, D. C., his first pastorate was at Trinity Episcopal Church, Boonville.
From Boonville, he went to St. John's Church, Whitesboro in 1923. Rev. Mr. Meyer was appointed missionary for Tompkins County in Ithaca in 1926. He served as assistant at St. John's Episcopal Church there. Rev. Mr. Meyer came to Utica as Rector of the Church of the Holy Cross in 1927 and served there until moving to Camden in 1928 when he became Rector of the Camden Trinity Episcopal Church. He also served the Hillsboro Community Church.
Rev. Mr.Meyer returned to the Trinity Episcopal Church, Boonville, in 1940 before going to Calvary Church, New York City. His last parish was Grace Church, Darlington, Md. Rev. Mr. Meyer served as interim Pastor in Sherrill and Canastota Churches in 1956, and for eight months had supplied at Trinity Episcopal Church, Camden.
He was a member of the Boonville Masons.
Besides his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Mrs. Harland Cole, Camden, and Mrs. Bernhard Moeller, Midland, Mich., and two sons, Henry Meyer, Bartow, Fla., and Lester Meyer, Smyrna, Dela. A third son, Samuel H. Meyer was killed in service in 1949 while serving as a bomber-pilot in the Air Corps.
The funeral will be at 10:30 tomorrow from Trinity Episcopal Church, Camden, with Rt. Rev. Walter M. Higley, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Camden.
