MRS. ANN BOLZENIUS (DECEASED).

Mrs. Anna Bolzenius (nee Voss), passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Boland, Seventh and Lewis streets, Tuesday evening, November 16, 1943, at 9:25 o'clock, after a weeks illness. Mrs. Bolzenius, who attained the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 1 day, at the time of her death, was born in Krakow, Mo., August 15, 1862, and was baptized and confirmed in St. Gertrude's church and educated in the parochial school. She remained with her parents until her marriage to Anthony Schmuke in the year 1879, and after marriage, made their home in the community of Neier, Mo. This union was blessed with four children, three of whom are still living.

After the death of her husband, she was later married to William Bolzenius, January 6, 1890, and following this marriage, continued residing in the Neier community. To this union, eight children were born, whom she leaves. After the death of Mr. Bolzenius, she moved to Granite City, Ill., in the year 1932, where she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Beck. On September 13, 1942, she came to Washington, Mo., and lived here with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mr. Louis Boland, until her death. Her death brings deep sorrow into the hearts of her family and friends, and her many kind deeds will be forever cherished. She was a loved mother, sister and grandmother, a kind and sincere friend, and her departure will be felt by all. Deceased was a member of the St. Francis Borgia church, and the married ladies sodality. Surviving her are four daughter, Mrs. Cecelia Morrison and Mrs. James Beck, Granite City, Ill.; Mrs. Edw. Walde, St. Louis; Mrs. Louis Boland, Washington; seven sons, William J. Bolzenius, St. Louis; Geo. J. Bolzenius, Union; John J. Bolzenius, Beaufort; Joe J. Bolzenius, Granite City, Ill.; Phillip, Henry and Andy Schmuke; three step-children, Mrs. Anna Voss, Mrs. Wm. Boettinger, and Mrs. Edward Schmuke; one sister, Mrs. Henry Peirick, Beaufort; five daughters-in-law, five sons-in-law, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, forty-three grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning, November 20, 1943, 9:15 o'clock at the St. Francis Borgia church. Interment was made in the St. Joseph's cemetery, Neier, Mo.
