PROSPERITY - Services for Howard W. "Butch" Abbott Jr., 59, of 2165 Blacksgate East, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Zion United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30- 7 this evening at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
Mr. Abbott died January 15, 2002 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Dumas, Texas, he was a son of Howard W. Abbott Sr. and the late Isabel J. Sterling Brumbaugh. He had retired from the Indian State Prison system. Mr. Abbott was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Surviving are father; sons; Howard Abbott III of Michigan City, Ind., Robert John Abbott of Blue Springs Mo., James Allen Abbott of Prosperity; daughter, Alicia Renee' Abbott of Indianapolis; sisters, Sue Green of Prosperity, Carole Smith of Los Vegas, Nev. and brother, Harry Abbott of Hobart, Ind. He was predeceased by sister, Judy West.
