After returning home from their honeymoon, spent in the northern part of the state, Mr and Mrs Tony Trani (Catherine Rosalia Stagnaro) are now residing in San Pedro. The couple was married Oct 5 at 10 O'clock mass in Mary Star of the Sea. The Rev James McLaughlin officiating. Relatives and close friends of the couple attended the nuptials. White flowers banked the altar and bows of white ribbon marked the aisle. Mrs P R A Hoffman played the wedding marches and accompanied Mrs John McNiece who sang "Ave Maria", "Oh, Sacred Heart" and "Our Father". Filomena DiCarlo played violin obligatos to the solos and also played "O Lord, I Am Not Worthy". Given in marriage by her brother Leonard Stagnaro, the bride wore a gown of white satin, princess style with a lace edged train. Her lace bordered tulle veil fell from a halo of seed pearls. She carried a shower bouquet of brides roses and bouvardia, centered by an orchid. Louise Trani, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. Her quaint peach taffeta frock was made with bouffani skirt and puffed sleeves. Rows of black lace edged the sleeves and skirt. She wore a blue hat, trimmed with peach flowers and carried blue delphinium and talisman roses. Bridesmaids were Lena Stagnaro, cousin of the bride; Helen Trani, sister of the bridegroom; Catherine Melano and Lucy DiCarlo. They wore blue moire taffeta dresses made with full skirts with slight trains, fitted bodices and puffed sleeves. They wore peach nosegays in their hair and carried blue delphinium and peach sweet peas. Silvio Stagnaro, brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were John Stagnaro, another brother; Mike DiRenziz, Louie Trani, brother of the bridegroom and Stanley DiMeglio. Breakfast was served to the bridal party and relatives following the ceremony, Mrs V Stagnaro, mother of the bride wore navy with matching accessories and a gardenia corsage. Mrs Frank Trani, the bridegroom's mother, wore poudre blue and gardenias. Leonard Stagnaro took moving pictures of the party. Dinner was served at Odd Fellows hall to 150 guests. Approximately 500 guests attended the evening reception. After cutting the traditional cake, the newlyweds left for the north. Mrs Trani chose a solier blue costume suit with wine accessories as her traveliing outfit. Both Mr & Mrs Trani are graduates of local schools. He is employed by DiCarlo National Bakery. They are living at 358 W 12th St.

Catherine Trani passed away October 19, 2004 in San Pedro. She was born July 23, 1921 and was a lifetime resident of San Pedro. She is preceded in death by her husband Tony Trani. Catherine is survived by her sons Frank (Robin) Trani, Vincent Trani, grandchildren Jerry Trani and Mary Rogers; great granddaughter Shelly Rogers and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be offered Saturday, 10:30 am at Mary Star of the Sea Church followed by interment at Green Hills Memorial Park, McNerney's Mortuary.
