G.A Turney Dies
George Allan Turney,aged 58, prominent Hidden planter and merchant, died in a local hospital Wednesday afternoon, following an illness of the past few weeks.
He is survived by three sons, Civil of Hidden, Clayton of Los Angeles, Calif., and Thurman of Seattle,Wash.; two daughters, the Georgette and Viola Turney of Hidden; one brother, J.C. Turney of Conway; and two sisters, Mrs. Emily Lynn of Hidden, and Mrs Sarah Johnson of Outman.
Funeral services were to be held at the Higden High School Auditorium at 2 p.m. today by W. L. Oliver,pastor of the First Methodist Church, Heber Springs. Interment was to be in the Higden Cemetery. Born at Hidden on February 1,1880, Mr. Turney's entire life was spent in that section . He was the son of the late W. A. and Elizabeth Turney.
