Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Mr. Matthew Edgar Watts, 87, who died Sunday at the Caldwell Rest Home in Dadeville. He was a native of Clay County.
Services were held at the First Presbyterian Church with the Revs. James O. Speed. Benny Jackson and Howard Stark officiating. Interment followed in the City Cemetery with Radney Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by three sons, Fred Watts. Alexander City, T. W. Watts, St. Petersburg. Fla., Jack Watts, Opelika; four daughters, Mrs. P. M. Swindal, Sylacauga, Mrs. T. L. Green, Birmingham, Mrs. R. II. Escousse. New Orleans, ;Mrs. .J. W. Spivey, Columbus, Ga., two sisters, Mrs. Annie Howell and Mrs. Grace Moon, both of Goodwater and two brothers, Lafe Watts, Goodwater and Tom Watts, Bryon, Tex.
