Soldier--Ethan Raymond Allen, 81, of rural Soldier, died Friday at Onaga Community Hospital.

He was born July 30, 1902 at Corning, the son of Bryon and Edith Dabner Allen. He moved from Corning to Soldier in 1933.

Allen was a farmer and stockman, and was very active in the Nemaha County Soil Conservation District.

He was married to Nora Helen Capsey Jan. 14, 1932, at Soldier. She survives.

Other survivors include five sons, Raymond Allen of Wellton, Ariz., Harvey Allen, Overland, Park, Martin Allen, Highland, and Donald Allen and Boyd Allen, both of Topeka; a brother, Russell Allen of Centralia; a sister, Mrs. Josie Hilbert, Clifton, Colo.; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday at 10:30 A. M. at the Soldier United Methodist Church under the direction of Mercer Funeral Home with burial in the Soldier Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nemaha County 4-H Program in care of First National Bank Wetmore.
