Services were held in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel Saturday morning for Mrs. Minnie Kidd, 83, who died at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis Wednesday, July 16. The Rev. Harold Wilder officiated and burial was in Maple Cemetery.
She was born in Blairsville, Ind., August 31, 1885, the daughter of William and Margaret Phillips, and moved with her family from Tennessee to Missouri when she was a young girl. She was reared in East Prairie and in 1947 was married to William Kidd, who preceded her in death in 1951.
She leaves three sons, William J. Tatum of Caruthersville, Price Tatum of Memphis and Wayne Jenkins of Pontiac, Mich.; five daughters, Mrs. Mayme Pate of Caruthersville, Mrs. Grace Pruiett of Vallejo, Calif., Mrs. Juanita Gossett of Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Virginia Smith of Paw Paw, Mich. and Mrs. Betty Baxter of Higbee, Mo., a brother, Oscar Phillips of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Daughtery of Senath; 30 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
