My maternal 3rd Great-grandfather enlisted as a Private on Aug.15, 1862 at Shelbyville IL in the Union Army Company K 126th Reg't Ill. Infantry. In November 1863 he was ill in the Post Hospital in Bolivar, TN. He went home to recover but had difficulties and never returned.

Was an elder of New liberty church of Christ and Sand Creek Church of Christ in Illinois. Was a devout church of Christ elder.
