Joel Thomas Walker, 55, of Clute passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009, at his residence. He was born March 3, 1954, in Port St. Joe, Florida, to Efford and Gale Walker.

Joel worked for the City of Clute for many years. He loved taking his son to Boy Scouts Troop 345, fishing and camping. He volunteered at the Clute Food Basket. He loved riding his Harley and was a member of the Guardians.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie Lovell Walker; mother, Gale Browning of League City; daughter, Janet Marie Diaz of Bronx, New York; sons, Lee Walker of Houston and Kevin Anthony Lovell II of Clute; sisters, Margie Yurko of Panama City, Florida, and Denise Brannan and husband, Sonny, of League City; brothers, Jerry Walker and wife, Lily, of Panama City and Ivan Walker of Carrabelle, Florida; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Waiting to meet Joel at heaven's gate are his dad, Lee Efford Walker; Uncle LaVere; Aunt Thelma; sister, Annie Smith; and friends, Irish and Cotton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Stroud Funeral Home.
