Jemima was a daughter of Susannah (nee unknown) and Davis Stockton (c.1760-c.1805). He was a son of Rachel (nee Allen) and Thomas Stockton, Sr., (c.1714-1783) of Albemarle County, Virginia.
Shown on the 1850 census and the 1860 Mortality Schedule as "Jemima Wilson". She is also shown as "Jemima Wilson" in her 1858 will. The DAR records that show her with the spelling of "Jemina" appear to be wrong.
The 1850 census also shows Jemima Wilson was in the same household as Susan Stockton, age 80 and born in Virginia. The DAR records that show "Jemina" as a daughter of Elizabeth (nee Whiteside) Stockton. The DAR records again appear to be wrong.
