OLSON, Irma May
(Age 90)

born to Frank and Bessie Mooers, January 17, 1916, passed away July 23, 2006. She was born in Gilbert, Idaho and moved to the area with herparents in 1920. She was preceded in death by her parents and all seven siblings. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Carl (Charlie) Neubrand, who was killed in a logging accident soon after they were married. She married Willie Olson on August 1, 1942, and he passed away in 1974. She was a long-time Deer Park resident. Graduated from Deer Park High School in 1936; active in the Eagles, TOPS and the Fair Association. She was a charter member of the Deer Park Hospital Auxiliary. She belonged to the Church in the Wildwood in Deer Park. Many new babies were welcomed into this world with a new baby blanket or booties handmade by Irma. I am sure many of you reading this have a stocking cap somewhere in your closet that she knitted! She was also well-known for her bread baking skill. She had a sly sense of humor even as Dementia clouded her mind. She is survived by daughters Karen (Rick) Olson of Deer Park, WA, Verna (Sam) Schneider of Davenport, WA; sons Ken (Wendy) Olson of Lake Stevens, WA, and Tom (Sharon) Olson of Loon Lake, WA. She has nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She lived the last years of her life at Townsend Adult Family Home near Spokane. Her family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff there, especially to Sandy, Edie, Brenda and Janet.
