FREDONIA - John W. Ropp, 85, Fredonia, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Fredonia Regional Hospital.
He was born April 21, 1916, in Roper, the son of John W. and Matilda Lauber Ropp.
He attended the Baker Valley schools and was a 1934 graduate of Benedict High School.
He was a plumber by trade.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Fredonia, the Southern California Pipe Traders Union and the Elks Club in Orange, Calif.
He was married to Mildred Pixley. She died Feb. 14, 1994.
On January 1, 1995, he married Mary Shue at Miami, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Paula Consentino, Temecula, Calif.; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Altoona Cemetery, led by the Rev. Steve Brodbeck of the First Christian Church. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m.
