Deceased Name: Robert C. Meadors Sr.
Mr. Robert Charles Meadors, Sr., 86 of Bartlesville, died at 3:23 A. M. Sunday at the Jane Phillips Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Meadors were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Robert Hamm officiating and assisted by Mr. Tony Lalli. Interment was in the Memorial Park Cemetery where full military rites were accorded by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105 and directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Casket escorts included Chuck Martz, Layne Parham, Darrel Adams, Joe Bushong, Roy Hopkins, and Carl Lee. Honorary casket escorts included John Meadors, Jim Billbe, Dennis Appelt, Ronnie Appelt, and G.W. Garrett.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Dewey Church of Christ, P.O. Box 340, Dewey, OK 74029.

Mr. Meadors was born in Bristow, OK to Charles Kaywood and Nora (Ledgerwood) Meadors. His father, Charles Kaywood died when he was very young, he was reared by his mother, Nora and his stepfather, Guy McQuain. He grew up and graduated from St. Louis Senior High School where he was Valedictorian in St. Louis, OK. He was married to Betty Mae Gorham on September 25, 1943, at the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church in Bartlesville. Mr. Meadors worked for Reda Pump Company as a machinist for 30 years and as an inspection supervisor for 11 years until his retirement in 1981 after 41 years of service. He was President of the union at Reda Pump for 17 years. Mr. Meadors was also a United States Navy World War II veteran, serving on the USS Colorado during the Battle of Saipan and sailing into Tokyo Harbor with the rest of the battle group for the signing of the peace treaty. He had been active in bowling, golfing, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He attended the Dewey Church of Christ.

Mr. Meadors is survived by two sons, Robert C. Meadors Jr. and his wife, Darlene of Bartlesville and Stephen L. Meadors and his wife, Martha of Bartlesville, one sister, Thelma Jean Mills, Stillwater, OK, four grandchildren, Stephanie Martz, John Meadors, Patty Meadors, and Shauna Parham, and five great grandchildren, Zach Meadors, Cassie Meadors, Jacob Martz, Zane Meadors, and Charli Martz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Kaywood and Nora (Ledgerwood) Meadors; his stepfather, Guy McQuain; his wife, Betty Mae Meadors; and four sisters, Wilma Liccion, Norma Appelt, Vivian Borrer and Geraldine Garrett.
