Services for Jody M. Modisette, of Lufkin, were held Monday, March 15 in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Fielder Cemetery.
Mr Modisette was born Aug. 29, 1924 in Lufkin, the son of Fannie (Marrs) and Charles Wesley "West" Modisette. He died Friday, March 12 in a Lufkin nursing facility. He served in the United States Navy from August 1941 until October 1945. He served aboard the USS Tangler, AVS. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor on Dec/ 7. 1941, and later participated in the battles of Wake, Midway and the Coral Sea. Mr Modisette retired from the Red Ball Motor Freight Lines in 1981 as a line driver with 54 years of service. He was a mamber of the American Legion and affifliated with the First Church of the Nazarene.
Mr Modisette was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Roberta Brock, and his brother Bruce Wilson Modisette.
