Clarence Earl Allen was born in Greene county near Cooper on the 10th day of March 1891 and has always lived in Green county. He died on June 22 at the Carroll hospital being 31 years old.
On Feb 21, 1917 he was united in marriage to Susie Triplett. He resided in his present home for about 4 years in Jackson township, where he was highly respected in the community, being himself a kind and helpful neighbor. He was a devoted and loving husband.
He leave to mourn his death, two sisters and three brothers: Otto Allen Jefferson, Ia; Austin Allen, Franklin township; Charles Allen of Franklin Township; Mrs Bessie Knee of Redlands, CA; and Mrs Earl Collins of Jefferson, IA.
He was preceded in death by George Allen, Floyd Allen buried at sea and Harley Allen and his good mother.
He is survived by his wife who has the sympathy of the entire community in this hour of deep sorrow.
