Howard V. DeLawter, 72, Kokomo, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1983, in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Kokomo. He had been ill for one day.
He was born Feb. 14, 1910, in Bunker Hill, to Chester and Bessie McHale DeLawter. He married June Coblentz on March 12, 1939, in Pipe Creek Township, Miami County, and she survives.
Also surviving are one son, Wayne DeLawter, Holicong, Pa.; two daughters, Janet Flora, Kokomo, and Joyce Eckert, LaJolla, Calif.; one sister, Josephine Murray, Leesburg, Fla.; two brothers, Louis DeLawter, Peru, and Walter DeLawter, Parker City; and six grandchildren.
Mr. DeLawter had lived in Kokomo since 1978, moving from the Peru area. A retired farmer, he was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Kokomo; the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star, both in Walton.
