Zoe was the daughter of Homer Albert Brown and Ida Olive Chambers. She married Umberto Richard Annunzio on Oct. 28, 1933 in Scranton, IA. They were the parents of Jerry, Gene, Janne, and Rick.

JEFFERSON HERALD - Thursday , April 18th, 1985 - Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 16, from Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson for Zoe Annunzio, 69, longtime Jefferson resident.

The Rev Roger Miller, pastor of Central Christian Church in Jefferson, officiated. Mrs Marc McGinn was soloist, with Mrs Lee Sloan as organist. Casket bearers were Larry Teeples, Everett Beebe, Dennis Blum, Don Muzney, Dick Davis and Ron Strawn. Interment was in Jefferson Cemetery.

Dorothy Zoe Annunzio, daughter of Homer and Ida Chambers Brown, was born Jan. 3, 1916 at Crystal Lake. She died April 12 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson. When Zoe was quite young, her family moved to the Greene County area where she attended school at Bristol No 8. She later attended the Jefferson schools and graduated from Jefferson High School in the Class of 1933. For a short time before her marriage Zoe taught country school in Greene county.

On Oct. 28, 1933, Zoe was united in marriage to Umberto Richard Annunzio at the Christian Church Parsonage in Scranton. They were the parents of four children: Jerry, Gene, Janne and Rick. The family made their home in Jefferson for all but about one year during World War Two when they lived in California where Richard worked in the shipyards Zoe was a member of Central Christian Church in Jefferson and also a former member of Rebekah Lodge.

Zoe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard in 1984; an infant son, Gene, one grandson, Michael Dawson in 1980, two brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by two sons: Jerry and his wife Edna Annunzio of Kansas City, MO, and Rick and his wife Marietta Annunzio of Jefferson; one daughter, Janne and her husband Earl Dawson of Grand Junction; seven grandchildren; one brother, Ted Brown of Oaklawn, IL; and her mother-in-law, Frances Annunzio of Jefferson.
