RINGGOLD, LA - Funeral services for Carroll Ray Abshure, 76, of Ringgold, LA will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Bistineau Baptist Church in Heflin, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Everitt Geis, Jr. Interment will follow in Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin, LA. Visitation will be at Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, LA on Saturday, September 16, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Mr. Abshure was born August 11, 1930 in Fouke, AR and went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2006. He was a deacon, former minister of music and longtime member of Bistineau Baptist Church in Heflin, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Bernice Abshure formerly of Memphis, TN; and his wife, Wanda Abshure.
Survivors include his son, Clint Abshure of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Kathy Abshure, a foreign missionary in Istanbul, Turkey, Cindy Perry and her husband, John of Carrollton, KY, and Karen Bryant of Shreveport, LA; brother, Bill Abshure of Memphis, TN; sister, Dorothy Sue Weaver of Memphis, TN; 3 Grandchildren, David Perry, Brandon Abshure, and Brian Perry; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Perry, Brian Perry, Brandon Abshure, Bruce Carter, Joe David, and Tim Boyet.
