Nannie Laurie Moore Brooks was born at Smithville, Mo. on June 27, 1892. She was the third child of eight born to William G. Moore and Sarah Elizabeth Lutz Moore. Nannie married Wylie Brooks on 10 Nov. 1920, they had three sons: Samuel Eugene Brooks, John Charles Brooks and Wylie Brooks, Jr. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Christian Church.
