William Avance Jr., "Bill", died Sunday Morning July 30, 2000, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Bill suffered a stroke on July 25th and had been hospitalized since that time. Burial services were on August 1st at Erin Springs, Oklahoma. Bills children, Jim, Dennis, Sandra, their spouses and children and grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and sisters Kathryn and Johnny and brother-in-law J.W. attended the service as well as many friends and neighbors. Bill had a cowboy funeral and there were several cowboys in attendance, and also numerous Peace Officers from Caddo County Sheriffs Office, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Pastor Johnny Wray of First Baptist Church, Verden, Ok., conducted the service. Bill was the son of William "Buck" and Ombra Ivy Avance, the grandson of John Isaac and Lu Ella Fite Avance, and the great grandson of Robert Harris and Eliza Helton Avance. Bill was loved very much by his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him
