Mr. Avon Boag, retired Cass City businessman and area farmer, passed away at the Stevens Nursing Home Tuesday, March 2, 1965, where he had been a patient two weeks. He had been in ill health the past seven years.
Mr. Boag was born in Lapeer County November 19, 1891, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Archie and Mary Hutson Boag.
He was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Phillips in Evergreen township November 29, 1916. Following their marriage, he settled on a farm in Evergreen township, later coming to Cass City where he was in the Plumbing and Heating business,
Mr. Boag was a member of the Deford Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Phyllis) Churchill of Deford, Mrs. Donald (Donna) Petersen of Marlette, and Mrs. Bill (Jean) Bird of Bay City; four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Peters of Ubly, Mrs. Christina Sauder of Marlette, Mrs Florence Kramp of East Orwell, Ohio, Mrs Grace Jickling of Marlette, twenty grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him death, Mary McAllister and Jean Lindsay.
Mr. Boag may be seen at the Little's Funeral Home until 2:00 p.m. Friday, the time of service.
Rev. Charles Strawn, pastor of the Deford Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will be in Novesta Cemetery.
