Martin Crutchfield (b:1822), also born in Pulaski County, married Cecelia (Celia) A Bryant on 31 Mar 1848, in Pulaski County, Georgia as well. After the birth of Ulysses, Martin & Celia relocated to Angelina, County Texas along with Martin’s younger brother John Martin Crutchfield between 1854 & 1855. There John Martin married Lyddy Bryant, Celia’s sister in 1861.
