Funeral services for Joyce Salmon, 83, of the Ironton Community near Jcksonville, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at the Thompson Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Bubba Phillips officiating.
Burial was in the McDonald Cemetery near New Summerfield.
Mrs. Salmon died Wednesday, Aug. 25, at a Jacksonville hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in New Summerfield on April 10, 1910 and had lived in the Ironton Community since 1987. She was formerly of LaRue.
She was a retired postal clerk in LaRue, with 22 years of service. She was a member of the Corinth Road Church of Christ in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Salmon is survived by her sisters-in-law, Mary Dickson of Palestine, Mrs. James Salmon of Frankston and Lois Hodges of Tyler; and a brother-in-law, Willie Patton of Ironton.
Pallbearers were Ed Brady, Doug Shuttleworth, Eric Wharton, Tam Barrow, Moody Glass Jr. and Rudolph Masters.
