Paul William Sarver

Paul William Sarver, 89, of Trent Hatchery Rd., Appomattox, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009, in Salem VA Center. He was the husband of the late Alice Burks Sarver. Born in Buchanan County, February 25, 1920, he was a son of the late William J. and Josephine Cooper Sarver. Paul was a US Army veteran serving in World War II, a retired farmer and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Linda S. Cheek and Jacqueline S. Lankford both of Lynchburg; two granddaughters, Lisa Peelish of Chesapeake and Lynette Merryman of Evington and two great grandsons, Steve Peelish and Chase Merryman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Sarver and five sisters, Mrs. Elon Johnson, Mrs. Edna Childress, Mrs. Henry Phillips, Mrs. Claude Phillips, and Mrs. Irene Miller. Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm, Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Timothy R. Earnhardt. Burial will take place in the Burks Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday one hour prior to the service.
