Lori was born Dec. 19, 1985, in Houston and died Monday, April 21, 2003, in Pineville from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Lisa's greatest accomplishment was her love for Jesus Christ. Every summer since she was a little girl, she was blessed to attend church camp as well as her work with Beautiful Feet Ministries of Fort Worth, Texas. She was a member of Garden Oaks Baptist Church of Houston.
Lisa competed and was accepted at LSMSA, Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts. During her time there, she was known to her friends as an "adventurer." She was vice president of SPICE, Students Promoting Intercultural Exchange, for 2002-03 and president-elect for 2003-04. Lisa was a gifted artist and recently sold her first sculpture to LaCapitol Federal Credit Union of Natchitoches. She took second place in sculpture at the last LSMSA art show.
Lisa loved to debate. She attended Humble High School in Texas, where she did debate competitions. She also attended Pineville High School, where she took first place in oratory at a Bolton High School Forensic Tournament. Lisa loved to dance, to sing, to play pool, but mostly, to make people laugh. She loved her family and her friends deeply and unconditionally.
Survivors include her mother, Sherry Long Rose of Humble, Texas, formerly of Pineville; her sister, Stephanie O'Neal of Conroe, Texas; her grandfather, Huey P. Long of Winnfield; her grandmother, Emojean Hodges Long of Pineville; and her great-grandmother, Winnie Hodges of Georgetown.
Pallbearers will be Corey Rice, Thomas Butler, Ethan Forrest, Michael Schmidt, Sudeep Rangi, Chet Atkins, David Johnson, and Brandon Johnson.
Visitation will be until time of services at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 4784 La. 124, Winnfield, La.
