Funeral services for Mr. Huey P. Long age 74 of Olla will be 11AM Thursday, June 17 2004 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Winnfield with family member Reverend Dale Hensarling and Reverend James Simons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Huey P. Long, passed away, Monday, June 14, 2004 in Houston TX after a lengthy illness. Huey P. Long was born to William Morris and Fannie Boyd Long in Winn Parish, LA. He graduated from Winnfield High School. He supported his family as a residential and commercial painting contractor and as a merchant as his grandfather Calvin Boyd. He loved to hunt deer in Louisiana, elk and bear in Colorado and dove in Mexico. He was past president of the CENLA Shrine Club of Alexandria, LA. He was the best brother and dad a gal could ask for.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by: Fannie Boyd Long, Mother William Morris Long, Father Jennifer Jane Long Schmitt, Daughter Lisa Lauren "Lori" Rose, Grandaughter
He is survived by: Carol Long of Houston TX, One sister: Mary Bea Thomas of Winnfield; One daughter: Sherry Long Rose of Houston TX; Grandaughters: Stephanie O'Neal of Conroe TX, Heather Hollier Johnson of Houston TX, Hollie Hollier Satterfield of Tyler TX, Haylee Hollier Davis of Leesville LA, Jessica Bridgette Hebert of College Station TX; Six Great-grandchildren.
