Mrs. James L. (Willa Mae) Welch died Friday [October 12, 1984] at her home after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at Owen Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dan Phillips and Jonas Partridge officiating. Burial and committal rites will be at Green Hill Memorial Gardens [Sapulpa] under direction of Owen Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state at Owen Funeral Home until 1 pm Monday. The casket will not be opened at the services. Casketbearers will be Gene, Tommy and Jerry Posey, Doug Freeman, Chief Peres, Ronnie Hunter, and Phillip Coon.

Mrs. Welch was retired from the Civil Service in 1969 after serving more than 30 years.

She was born Dec. 5, 1911 in Eufaula, [Oklahoma]. She moved to Sapulpa from Sand Springs five years ago. She was a member of the Little Cussetah Church.

Mrs. Welch is survived by her husband, James of the home; son, Leroy of Placentia, Calif.; daughter, Janice Cypert of Sapulpa; brother, Leo Hunter of Sapulpa; sister, Betty Jo Hunter of Modesto, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
