PIONEER PASSES AWAY
Friday night at St. Joseph‟s Sanitarium at Fort Worth, Isem Cranfill of Whitt died and Saturday his body was brought on the 4:20 train to this city from where it was carried to Whitt for burial which occurred Sunday at the Authon cemetery.
Mr. Cranfill had been suffering for some time with bladder trouble and last Monday he was operated on by Dr. Bacon Saunders at Fort Worth for the relief of the malady which had been affecting him. His age was too great to enable him to withstand the shock and strain of the operation, and Friday night he quietly passed away.
Mr. Cranfill was one of the early pioneers of this county, and during his lifetime accumulated considerable wealth, he owning, at the time of his death, the bank at Whitt, considerable cattle interests and business and farm property at Whitt and other places. He was a man liked by everyone and his public-spiritedness will be missed by his town.
