Greenwood, Nov 28 Mrs Mary Brooks Coleman died at the home of her son, T B Coleman, here this afternoon at 1 o'clock.
She was 90 years old. The funeral will be conducted from the South Main Street Baptist Church tomorrow evening at 3 o'clock by her pastor, Rev Ellias A Fuller. Interment will be here.
Mrs Coleman was born in Abbeville County on December 25, 1833 and was the daughter of Capt Stanmore Butler Brooks.
As a girl, she attended the famous Bar Hamville Academy at Columbia, conducted by Dr S Marks, from which she was graduated in 1851.
Her husband, Milton Coleman, a Confederate Veteran and later a Greenwood Merchant, died about 30 years ago.
She is survived by one son, T B Coleman and one sister, Mrs Eddie McCall of Quitman, GA.
