Visitation for Millard ''Cal'' Calvert, 84, of Kankakee, will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the 1 p.m. Services at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. The Rev. Charles Wheeler will officiate.
Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery, Kankakee.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Mr. Calvert died Saturday (Feb. 13, 1999) at Manteno Veterans Home.
Cal was born Jan. 27, 1915 in Kankakee, the son of Millard and Mary Viano Calvery.
Mr. Calvert was a carpenter and member of Carpenters Union Local 496.
He was a veteran, serving in the Army and a member of the American Legion Post 1019 in Aroma Park.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Cuddy, whom he married Sept. 1, 1967 in Paxton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Susan Calvert of Ohio; stepsons and spouses, Rodney and Cindy Tofte of Rock Spring, Ga., Roger and Betty Tofte of Los Osos, Calif., Jim and Marge Tofte of Bourbonnais and Gene and Debbie Tofte of Bradley; two sisters, Maxine Renquist of Colorado and Crystal Dupuis of Bourbonnais; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Mary Calvert of Bradley, Bobby and Mary Calvert of California and Pearl Calvert of Kankakee; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a stepson, Steven Tofte and a brother, Ronnie Calvert.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
A member of the Loyal order of the Moose Lodge, he enjoyed playing cards.
