Florence Elizabeth Moore, 79, of Paris, Ill., passed away at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 in Union Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 20, 1928 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to William Eve and Florence Smith Eve. She was a homemaker. She also was a Deli Clerk at Bridwell's Grocery in Paris and a grocery in New York.

She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America, St. Rose of Lima Court, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paris and the Wednesday Night Rosary Group at St. Mary's Church.

Survivors include her husband Joseph A. Moore of Paris; a daughter, Joanne Moore Slater of Paris; two sons, Raymond Moore and wife Rebecca of Paris and Thomas Moore and wife Lisa of Terre Haute; 10 grandchildren, Joseph lll, Rebecca, James, Kimberly, Timothy, Jessica, Tiffany, Alexis, Joseph lV and Thomas; three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Buddy, Bernie, Wally and Jackie; four sisters, Eleanor, Lilly, Marion and Dolores and her son-in-law, Thomas Slater.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paris on Monday at 10 a.m. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home, 303 East Wood Street, in Paris, with a Rosary Service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Paris. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to D.O. IT!, Edgar County Cancer Support Group or Edgar County Humane Society.
