FUNERAL IS WEDNESDAY FOR EARLY MAIL CARRIER
UNION CITY - Funeral services for John Fulton, 76, one of the first group of rural mail carriers appointed here, who died Sunday night in his home here after a long illness, will be held at 2:30 pm. Wednesday from the Bartlett funeral home. The Rev. H. E. Wylie will be in charge. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Fulton was born on the family homestead west on M-60, Feb. 15, 1864, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fulton. He came here as a young man and shortly afterward received his appointment as rural mail carrier. He retired to run his farm on the north village line when his son, Hugh, enlisted in the World war.
In April, 1889, he married Miss Cora Bailey of Union City, who survives as does the son, Hugh. Mr. Fulton was a member of the Methodist church and had been a church officer many years, serving as a steward at the time of his death.
