Leon Goodrich whose sudden death was mentioned in these columns last week, was born at Meyard, Iowa, Oct. 29, 1878, and died in the vicinity of Argyle, Nov. 11, 1919, aged 41 years and 18 days.
He was married to Miss Dona Bathan, Oct. 8, 1901, and to them six children were born. Donald, Lester, Carol, Mildred, Burnard and Marie, Lester having been called to the great beyond several years ago.
Besides his wife and children, he leaves one brother, Frank D. Goodrich living in Wiota, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Blakesley of Portland, Oregon.
Mr. Goodrich came here from Iowa a number of years ago and has been engaged in farming most of the time in this neighborhood. The past few months he has been patrolman from Argyle west on the Darlington Road.
He was industrious and faithful in whatever his hands found to do, and naturally attracted many friends who feel a sense of great loss in his sudden death. He was a member of the Methodist church, a kind husband and father and a good neighbor.
The funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church of this place on Friday by the pastor, and the burial took place in Woodlawn cemetery.
