LOGAN - Edith Andersen Pehrson, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, from sudden heart failure. She was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Grace, Idaho, to Leo Nels and Emma Frazer Andersen.

She was educated in Thatcher and Grace, Idaho, and attended Ricks College in Rexburg. Edith also resided in Mendon but spent the majority of her adult life in Logan.

On April 2, 1947, she married her sweetheart, Calvin L. Pehrson, in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they raised a wonderful family of six children.

Edith was devoted to home and family and was active in community and church service. In the community, she served as an election judge, PTA president, and a school volunteer at Wilson Elementary.

An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women organizations. She was also a Den Leader, a visiting teacher, and served as ward and stake librarian. She filled a full-time church service mission to the Cache Family History Center and later volunteered there weekly.

She loved the outdoors including fishing, hiking, and camping. She enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in sports, concerts, and theater, and playing games. She was a wonderful cook, an expert canner, an enthusiastic gardener, and an accomplished quilter.

She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Edith is survived by her husband Calvin of Logan; children, Kathleen (Richard) Brown, Millville, Carl (Connie) Pehrson, Lewiston, Leo (Carol) Pehrson, Smithfield, Janice (Lynn) Wright, Logan, Tim (Nada) Pehrson, Plain City, Alan (Karen) Pehrson, St. George, 26 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
