Wayne "Peck" Pelts, 83, of Kennett, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born March 5, 1928, in Kennett, he was the son of Rayburn Pelts and Ella Mae Baker Pelts.

On Sept. 16, 1967, he married Billie Richardson, who survives.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Pelts, of Kennett; one son, Dennis Wayne Pelts and wife, Rosemary, of Kennett; three daughters, Sharron Gargas, of Kennett; Cindy Martin and husband, Orville and Tina Golden and husband, Scott, all of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren, Lorrie Davis, of Piggott, Ark., Ed Gargas, of Dexter, Mo., Rob Gargas, of Kansas City, Mo., Dennis Pelts, Jr., of Germany, Haley Bracey, of Kennett, Matt Golden and Kaley Golden and Mollie Martin and Will Martin, all of Jonesboro; seven great-grandchildren, Aaron, Kieran, Nate, Hannah, Eric, Elizabeth and Mason; two sisters, Margie Dye, of Jackson, Mo., and Cleta Cash, of Ventura, Calif., and other relatives and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Kean and Jerris Beacham.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, June 9, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett with Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Pallbearers are Orville Martin, Scott Golden, Ed Gargas, Rob Gargas, Matt Golden and Aaron Gargas.

Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Pelts, Jr., Everett Bracey and Mark Davis.
