Clarissa A. "Clary" Hayes Kimbrel is the oldest Kimbrel headstone in Concord Cemetery. She was born in North Carolina which is where she married John Joseph Kimbrel (1806-1854) on December 11, 1824. They were the parents of nine known children.

John Joseph passed away in 1854 in Indiana. The location of his grave is unknown. Clarissa came west with her sons Martin (b. 1841) and John (b. 1851) Kimbrel in 1887. The families settled about 15-20 miles south of Dodge City in Concord Township.
Clarissa is buried in Concord Cemetery with her son, John, and many grandchildren.
