John Newton Sims

John Newton Sims 69, of Parkersburg,
passed away Tuesday 28 July 1953.
Born in Burning Springs, Wirt County
West Virginia on 16 April 1892, he was
the son of the late Sarah Cordelia Price
and John Wesley Sims.
The father of 10 children he was a farmer
and worked on an oil rig to support his
large family, he lived his entire life in Wirt
and Wood counties.
He was survived by his wife of 40 years,
Sarah Elizabeth McClung; 6 sons Gay l.
Sims, Ray O.Sims; (who were twins);
Howard W "Bill" Simms; Floyd Valentine
Sims; Alva Harold Sims; And Virgile Allan
Simms; two daughters Pearl A. Sims Vincent;
and Anna Ruth Sims Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents
John and Sarah Price Sims; Two sons
who died young, Chester Casto Sims and
James Tilden Sims.
