COOKEVILLE Funeral
services for Alta Halfacre, 83, of Baxter will be held Saturday, April 23, 2005,
at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Cookeville Funeral Home with burial in the Oddfellow Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, April 22, from 59
p.m.
Mrs. Halfacre died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Putnam County on Sept. 28, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Felix and Johnnie
Gibson Alcorn.
Mrs. Halfacre was retired from McCords of Cookeville and was a member of the Lilly's Chapel Baptist
Church.
Her family includes her husband of 63 years, Vernon Webb Halfacre of Baxter; a daughter and soninlaw,
Joan and Dewey Denson of Baxter; sons and daughtersinlaw,
Vernon and Carol Halfacre of Belleville,
Mich., William (Bill) and Mary Halfacre of Cookeville and Carl H. and Suzanne Halfacre of Silver Point;
brothers, William Alcorn of Ypsilanti, Mich., Houston Alcorn of Lambertville, Mich., and Jimmy Alcorn
of Culleoka; sisters, Helen Watts of Baxter and Virginia Halfacre of Sparta; grandchildren and spouses,
Alan and Lori Halfacre and Regina and Pom Klophenstein of Taylor, Mich., Bill Jr. and Debbie Halfacre,
Brian and Melissa Halfacre of Cookeville, Bradley Lane and Tracey Halfacre of Baxter and Clint Thomas
and Carla Beth Halfacre of Silver Point; greatgrandchildren,
Kristin and Bailey Halfacre, Lee Armstrong,
Nick Goachee, Jacob and Olivia Vada Christine Halfacre and greatgreatgrandchildren,
Alexzander Lee
and Christian Elizabeth Armstrong.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Alcorn.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Bros. Herbert Leftwich and Joe Roysden will officiate at the services.
