Marshall D. Brown Jr., 56, Kansas City, MO, died Saturday, September 26, 1998 at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 1, at Trinity United Methodist Church on Armour Blvd; burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Foundation for Cancer Research or the Police Benefit Association of Kansas City or the Nelson Gallery Foundation.

Mr. Brown was born August 6, 1942, in Kansas City, MO. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City. He was employed as a news photographer, first at KMBC Channel 9 for 10 years, then at KCTV Channel 5 beginning in 1984. While there, he was an original member of the CBS Newspath Office and was one of the original crew for Crime Stoppers, which has received numerous awards. He was a member of AFTRA [American Federation of Television and Radio Artists]. Mr. Brown was an avid sailor, a longtime member of the Perry Yacht Club and a co-founder of Midwest Yacht Sales.

He is survived by a daughter, Carrie L. Garvey, Indianapolis, IN; two sisters, Mateel Hoppe, New York, NY, and Vicky Baroukh, Islamorada, FL; and a nephew, Paul C. Hoppe, New York, NY. (Arrangements: Mt. Moriah & Freeman Chapel)
