Mary was born in Comanche County, Texas on December 27, 1921, one of thirteen children, and passed on to Glory May 6, 2017, at 95 years of age.

She is survived by daughter Joan Kerr and husband Kurt Petersen of Austin, sons James Horton and wife Gayle Douglas of Temple and Mike Horton of New Braunfels. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Jimmy Horton (Debbie) of Hendersonville, TN, Kristin Zamora (Trey) of Round Rock and Marysa Daniel (Brandon) of Buda. In Tennessee also are her great-grandsons Brandon Mozisek and Bryan Horton. Also surviving are her sister Oleta Branum of Abilene, brothers C. J. Fisher (Charlsie) of Carrolton and Ardis Fisher (Linda) of Abilene.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years J. B. Horton, her parents William and Minnie (Self) Fisher, and nine siblings. She was a life-long Baptist and a member of several Baptist churches.

The family expresses gratitude to the staff at Pflugerville Care Center and the staff of Halcyon Hospice. She was treated with love and kindness.

A private family burial will take place at a later date in De Leon Cemetery in De Leon, Texas.
