Kanabec County Times (Mora, MN), 19 January 1906, page 1: "Mrs. James Edgar Dead. Dies at Northwestern Hospital at Princeton Wednesday Noon From Blood Clot. Mrs. James Edgar, of Andree, this county, died Wednesday noon at the Northwestern hospital at Princeton where she was operated on last Saturday for cancer of the stomach. The operation was successful and she was apparently recovering. Wednesday noon a blood clot developed in one of the large blood vessels in her lower limbs which stopped circulation and caused death in a few minutes. Mr. Edgar and son brought the remains up from Princeton last evening. From there they will be taken to Andree where funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon and the remains interred in the Rice Creek cemetery. Mrs. Edgar's maiden name was Nellie Lee. She was born in Skien, Norway, June 24, 1863 and came to this country over 20 years ago. She was married 20 years ago to James Edgar near Lamberton, Minn. She came to Andree, this county, with her husband and children, about four years ago. In addition to the husband she is survived by the following five children: John, Walter, Harvey, Chas. and Douglas. Besides the above children, there are four step children as follows: Mrs. H.A. Bates and Mrs. D. Campbell of Tracy, Minn., Mrs. L. Klien of Waterloo, Iowa, and R.M. Edgar of Mora. The following brothers and sisters also survive her: Mrs. H. Halvorson of Willow City, N.D., Mrs. P. Anderson of Kasson, Minn., Mrs. R.M. Edgar of Mora, Jakob Lee of Mariette, Minn., John Lee of Tracy, Minn., and Nels Lee of Verndale, Minn. She was an aunt by marriage of Walter Edgar of this village. The sorrowing husband and children have the sympathy of all in their affliction."
