Women with Limit on life takes body of son, flood victim, to home in Ohio
By Mary Crutcher

A Woman who was told by a doctor that she has only two months to live, today was preparing to accompany the body of her son, a flood victim, to Ohio for burial.

She is Mrs. Glenn J. Flatter, 44, who is in St. Joseph's Hospital suffering from shock and exposure.

Mrs. Flatter, her husband and their three year old son, Gerald Edward, were rescued after their trailer house at 345 N. Cherry washed away in flood water Monday night.

Mrs. Flatter's son Donald Leroy Deweese, 16, was trapped in the trailer house and was drowned.

Mrs. Flatter has been suffering from a critical lung ailment which she contracted while working in a powder plant during the war, for three years.

She has been bed ridden most of the time since January. Last Friday, she said she visited a doctor's office. He told her that she probably would not live more then two months.

When she learned her son was drowned, she asked to accompany the body. Her doctor told her it would be all right for her to make the train trip.

Her husband plans to make the trip by auto if he can get his car in condition. The body of the youth will be sent by Miller funeral Home.
